The Warren A. Sill Fund's Scholarship Recipients
Amanda is a senior in the Middle Childhood Education program at KSU and the recipient of the 2016-2017 Warren A. Still Fund scholarship. She hopes to show her students that education is not only a way to do well in school, but a chance to navigate and contribute to the world. Amanda loves adventure and is the founder and president of the Kent State Explorers, an outdoor pursuit group for Kent State students. As a future teacher, she hopes to embody Warren’s passion for living life with energy and excitement in a way that will positively impact her students. Amanda’s favorite quote on education is “students don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care”. She is so excited to bring her talents and interests to help the Warren A. Still Fund achieve their goals this spring.
Taylor Williams is a recent Warren A. Sill Fund recipient for the 2015-2016 academic year. A Middle Childhood Education major from Cleveland Heights, Taylor aims to become a powerful presence for the education of others. Taylor personifies characteristics of Warren through her incredible commitment to others throughout her journey. Taylor serves as a member of the Network of Diverse Educations Programs, Literacy and Independence for Family Education, and the Student Advisory Committee for the Women's Center at Kent State University. Taylor is a mother to an adventurous young girl whom she continues to inspire each and every day. The Warren A. Sill Fund is proud to have Taylor represent the organization for the 2015-2016 academic year at Kent State University.

"Being chosen for this scholarship means to me that I have been recognized for my hard work both in school and life, and I greatly appreciate this recognition; it is a remarkable feeling."
"From what I have been told about Warren, I am nothing but honored to be able to represent him and the men and women who are continuing his legacy. I can only hope that I am able to emanate some of the characteristics that he obtained and that you all were so touched by."
